1st Handcross Cubs Visit Gatwick Make Ready Centre

1st Handcross Cubs visited Gatwick Make Ready Centre this week to build on their first aid knowledge and find out more about the ambulance service.

During their visit Cubs got to look at all the different vehicles they have and the equipment on them, including a truck which carrys an ATV for difficult to reach patients! Although nothing can beat playing with the lights and sirens…

Cubs also built on their exisiting first aid knowledge by learning how to properly apply bandages and slings, how to put people in the recovery position and how to do effective CPR. This continues their work towards a higher level of the emergency aid staged activity badge.

The Cubs had a great time and really enjoyed the visit. A big thank you to the staff who gave up their time for free to look after us for the evening.
